About MISEC

The Michigan Schools Energy Cooperative (MISEC), a non-profit, was organized in 1997 by MSBO, MASA, MAISA, MASB and MCEA to aggregate the state’s individual school districts for energy procurement.

MISEC works with most of the active natural gas and electric suppliers in the state and has a board of directors that includes superintendents and school business managers.

Our goal is to provide you with the lowest cost, reliable supply of natural gas and electricity. We will also provide accurate, un-biased information regarding your energy purchasing.

Once an account is enrolled in the electric program, the utility will exchange the existing meter with one that is compatible with the electric program requirements. There is no cost to the customer or power outage required for this work to be completed.

MISEC will provide your districts monthly savings on each consolidated invoice. In addition, a savings report will be provided annually and as requested.

MISEC is audited annually by Plante & Moran, LLP. A copy of the audit will be provided upon request.
